Elegant is the only real Luigi competitor at the top level, but it’s pretty doable to learn the basic aspects of his grab combos.
Richter is incredible. Downward aerial and Down-B both deal huge damage, and Up-Air is a solid juggling tool.
Dtilt is fun too. Playing an uncommon character would never make someone unique. Ultimate has been out for almost a month now, thousands if not millions of players have gotten to experience the vast array of characters the game has to offer. Now he’s much more fun to play, and KI:U is one of my favorite games of all time. Pichu- feels awesome amd scares the shit out of some people. Fishing Rod is a solid tether recovery move, but is much less useful than Villager’s rocket Side-B. Peach - I've always played well with Peach when she was first introduced. I always liked playing Young Link over Link because he was faster and less clunky, but Young Link is possibly the best Link has ever been. Hitting with him just... feels really good and he takes a fair beating before going down. Characters like Ken, Ryu, and Pokemon Trainer are also more well-suited to specialists. As for Terry/Shotos, Smash players can't/won't play them because of FGC inputs. Ultimate received its 7.0 update that added Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses to its roster of fighters, and since then the gameâs best players have had ample time to suss out how the update has impacted the best and worst characters in the game. Incineroar. Joker gets his Persona out and then deals ridiculous damage, killing with back aerial super early and using his fast movement and low-profile dash animation to remain elusive whilst punishing wrong moves from enemies. They are both very strong rushdown characters that also happen to have a sword and they have great combos. Olimar: Olimar was my second main in Brawl and PM, and his pluck is so fast in Ultimate. Pichu has fallen off the charts slightly since the baby rat’s early power level. Ultimate. What used to be a meme character is now one of my mains.
Aerial down b having less lag makes me love him even more. Our favourite of the Mii fighters, Mii Gunner can usually be found dressed as Sans Undertale and spamming his ludicrously long-range forward smash attack. Ivysaurs side throw into charizards side B feels so smooth now and hits like a fucking tank.

The following table was put together by Smash Melee eSports player TSM|Leffen, who also created his list after spending the day playing as most of the characters and created an early tier list. Leffen is one of Smash Bros. Meleeâs best players of all-time and also considers Game & Watch as one of the strongest characters in the game. You’ll also see a lot of Up-B egg throwing and utilising his double jump (which resists knockback) to string together up aerials. How to watch League of Legends UKLC – catch all the action, live! His up and down smash covers pretty large areas next to him, with his down smash attack even hitting below the ledge.
Mii Brawler, like Gunner, has a host of potential movesets to choose from. He’s got some decent disjointed hitboxes and a fairly decent recovery thanks to his multiple jumps, but unfortunately he’s just excruciatingly slow. Lucario has gone from a pretty good character in brawl with decent representation, to a cheesy but still good character in 4 with bad representation, to a bad character with no representation in ultimate. His main strength is Arsene, though. Even so, some might prefer Lucas thanks to PK Freeze stealing stocks early, as well as his handy tether grab mechanic which lets you mix up your recovery. I have a love for turnip setups. Robin - I've never played a proper Fire Emblem title, but Robin is just such a fun character. Shulk has been buffed very much compared to Smash 4. Link: I've been playing zelda since before I could read, I don't like him competitively but I still love playing him, Young Link: Not as cool as regular Link, but easier to play competitively than regular Link, Roy: This is the champ I will probably play the most when I'm being a try hard, Fast, Strong, almost everything is a kill move in his kit, KROOL: First time playing him in any game mode was classic, I got a 9.7 not even knowing his move set going in, hes clearly an easy character to pick up, plus hes THICCC.
