Odinforce is Odin's, the infinity gauntlet is just a specific thing thanos had at one point. Statements are taken into consideration. Odin would win when neither are used easily, but gauntlet is too powerful even though odin would normally beat his ass. Odin has more raw power then Thanos and in a random encounter between the two of them Odin is going to win.

But Thanos can likely tank his energy blasts or block them with his gauntlet like he did against Iron Man.

So the film was way off. You'd have to consider the undeniably cannon book as non cannon for any of it to make sense.

With a month of prep, Thanos could get the time gem, then use it to go back in time and retrieve another gem, which he could use to defeat Odin. Wow.
