The APEX Museum — which stands for the African American Panoramic Experience — first opened in 1978, and is now the city’s oldest Black History Museum. I believe this museum will introduce you to Black history that is unknown or definitely forgotten. The exhibits span from “Africa the Untold Story” to “Sweet Auburn Street Pride.”   Africa the Untold Story allows visitors to learn about the richest continent in the world, its people, its contributions, and its culture throughout the last 6,000 plus years. Then watch a 3-D movie that spans the globe and sample more than 100 different beverages. I enjoyed the whole experience here thanks for great history museum, I never knew the history of "Sweet Auburn" the street.
The museum provides very good information about the slavery element in a very well focussed way. Admission is $7.00 for adults and $5 for students, military, and guests ages 55 and older. The short films that are played are powerful and educational.
